Tickets are now available for our special one-day-only tour, Exploring Chinatown: Past and Present!
Join us on Sunday, April 17 and experience the unique history of one of L.A.'s oldest neighborhoods. Chinatown is awash in colors, sounds, and smells. It has a rich history as home to Chinese and other immigrant populations, and its narrow streets have many stories to tell.
You can select one of two times to begin the tour: 10:30 a.m. or 1:30 p.m.
After a dynamic presentation on the area’s origins and history at the historic King Hing Theatre with special guest speakers, you’ll be free to explore the area at your own pace. You can visit as many places of interest as you’d like during tour hours. Conservancy docents and tour partners will provide information and interpretation at designated sites.
Make sure to take time during your self-paced tour to explore the diverse shops, galleries, and restaurants in the area. There are plenty of eateries to choose from, featuring both Cantonese cuisine and trendy street food options.
This is a culturally rich area with plenty to see both on and off the tour, so plan to spend the day immersing yourself in Chinatown’s street life—and be sure to bring your camera!
